Nova Not Super

Ah, too bad.  Kansas looked like a strong prairie storm flattening a field of corn, as the Jayhawks cut down 12th seed Villanova last night.  (Okay, that was over the top … Hemingway I’m not!)  The miracle upset that JordanCornblog expected Augustinian-founded Villanova to deliver was on the other side of the bracket, where those upstart Presbyterians from Davidson overturned Wisconsin to dance on.  So given that it was Presbyterians … maybe it was predestinaton rather than a miracle.  Ya gotta wonder!  (In JordanCornblog’s defense, let it be noted that both Davidson’s and Villanova’s school mascot/nickname is WILDCATS.  Clearly, we were on the right track … but went for the wrong Wildcat.)

In other Friday night action, Texas sent Stanford packing … in no uncertain terms.  Finally, in the late game, Memphis rolled past Michigan State, joining the Elite Eight for the third straight year.  Derrick Rose and his fellow Tigers proved the nay-sayers wrong yet again … while at the same time depriving Patti of one of her last hopes for some hoops points!

So how do things stand in our pool?  Chris and Dewd remain ahead, with Brigitte and Mike dogging them hard.  Alice has fallen off quite a bit since she fled to Paris … while Morgan continues to be strong and steady.  He’s tied with Cynthia and has moved ahead of Murray again.  Meanwhile Rachel, Holly, and a surging Tyler are right in the mix, too!

… and JordanCornblog is doing poorly enough that she is getting tired of showing these damn standings … that’s for sure![TABLE=22]
