Ten, nine, eight …

Grant Wahl has another excellent article on SI.com – this one focusing on Heather Mitts. Who knew that she ran with the bulls at Pamplona?

… and from the St. Petersburg Times, another take on this evolving USWNT – this by John Romano. He offers a nice summary of the challenges faced by this team and its coach:

Heading into the Beijing Games, about half the players who stood on the podium together in Greece are gone. The United States has changed coaches — twice. Along with the major roster makeover, there was a minor mutiny within the ranks. And three weeks ago, it lost Wambach to a broken leg.

And then from SoccerAmerica Daily, we’ve got some nice quotes from Pia … who sounds positive and realistic … and understated in a way that makes me feel very hopeful (having seen her in action in Boston with the Breakers). We shall see!

There’s lots of Oly-related “stuff” on the WPS site. And speaking of the Breakers – there will be a live chat with Lisa Cole tomorrow morning before and during the USWNT-Norway game! Here’s the link for the Breakers chat schedule (Tony DiCicco will be joining the fun in the next two games.)
