Canterbury Madness

As Siena battles Louisville … and Mo moves his way up in the brackets … and Cynthia continues to dazzle on the national stage … another day of March Madness leaves the dogs and cats of Canterbury relatively unmoved. What’s with that?

Oh my yes, poor , poor Tenn. and poor, poor Pat who seemed depleted and crushed. And then there’s poor ME and my poor crumbling bracket. Thank god Baylor didn’t go the way of Tenn. or I would be wailing in my coffee instead of slowly, very slowly greeting this day.

  2. Sweating and whining are the order of the day down in Tennessee, don’t you think?

And your (er Walt’s) last line certainly applies to Ruby! Willie does enjoy watching two-legged uprights hurling balls – but NOT into nets, thank you very much!

Don’t despair … things will change (like NH weather).

    (With apologies to Walt Whitman)

I think I could turn and live with animals, they are
so placid and self – contain’d,
I stand and look at them long and long.

They do not sweat and whine about their condition,
They do not lie awake in the dark and weep for their sins,
They do not make me sick discussing their duty to God,
Not one is dissatisfied, spending hours upon hours upon hours watching two-legged uprights hurling balls into nets,
Not one is demented with the mania of owning things,
Not one kneels to another, nor to his kind that lived
    thousands of years ago,
Not one is respectable or unhappy over the whole earth.
