It’s also very misty, as the bare, early-April trees are slowly defined by the soft grey, eastern light this morning.
I’m having trouble focusing on news of the world … or the nation even, these days. So am letting it go for now. Just don’t expect anything other than soccer or b-ball here for the next bit, okay? (In case you hadn’t realized that already.) I’ll get back to a wee bit more balance in a week or so … or so.
In the meantime, in the best news by far of the day, here’s Beulah’s post about Sunday’s match between the LA Sol and the DC Freedom. If you aren’t a soccer fan … just don’t get it … read this. It’s a big part of what started getting me hooked early on! And here are some video highlights from that match (from the WPS site.)
Here’s a nice piece from The Globe profiling Breakers’ defender Heather Mitts. Interesting to note that she’s engaged to Eagles’ Quarterback AJ Feeley (so my money’s on a move to Philly for the 2010 season). If you want to see Heather in Breakers’ blue, best to do it this year!
And to close – some apt lines from Robert Frost for today … from Two Tramps in Mudtime …
You know how it is with an April day
When the sun is out and the wind is still,
You’re one month on in the middle of May.
But if you so much as dare to speak,
A cloud comes over the sunlit arch,
A wind comes off a frozen peak,
And you’re two months back in the middle of March.
