McCain's Britney Ad a New Low … and It Backfires!

John McCain’s campaign launched an ad that accuses Barack Obama of being more like a celebrity than a leader. Interestingly, in this piece for The Atlantic, Marc Ambinder details the reaction of John Weaver (former McCain strategist and friend) to these tactics.

I agree. What McCain had going for him was that he seemed a different kind of politician. It’s tough to maintain that premise while running those ads.

As an aside … if you watch the MSNBC video, it’s interesting to see how very awkward and uncomfortable McCain seems as he struggles with speaking and reading at the same time. The similarities to Dubya just keep coming … and the country can’t tolerate another 4 years. As the Cowardly Lion would say … no way, no how!

Meanwhile, Barack has hit back. And in a great Huffington Post post, we see that Britney and John McCain are far more similar than Britney and Barack, it seems. httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPEV6twzxmE&e

It only seemed that way to those who swallowed the kollaid fed to them by McCain’s “base”, the mainstream news media, and failed to look at McCain’s actually career history and record.
