Speaking of Liars

Don’t give this guy money … give him a diagnosis and get him some help!

Paranoid flavor, for sure.  Quite a few delusions, too.

Dana Milbank has written an excellent piece decrying the GOP’s bad behavior the other night – Mr. Wilson being just one example of what was a generally poor display by the alleged grown-ups representing the Republican Party in Congress.

Someone was asking the other day, why all the heightened affect about healthcare reform?  If you think about it … isn’t it odd that people are so impassioned about it?

As reflected in a bizarre comment left on the blog yesterday … I think it’s more about Obama than about any particular issue.

And it’s more about racism than it is about Obama.

Sorry to say it … sorry to see it … but the ugliness of America’s fear and hate-filled underbelly is on full display as these folks vent their bile.

Who in the GOP will stand up and say enough?  Is there anyone left in the Republican Party with scruples?  With a backbone and a brain?

This 9/11 I feel like we are seeing and hearing what fear mongers and hate mongers create with all their vile “mongering.”

It is ugly.

It is unworthy of us.

But here it is.

Oh it gets even better! Here’s text from another article I found. Apparently the woman he was talking about originally is Heidi DeJong Barsuglia. The one below is another mistress he apparently has…

But Duvall wasn’t content to just share one adulterous tale at the July 8 committee hearing. He referenced a second, simultaneous affair with another woman. He seemed amused that he was cheating on both his wife and a mistress.

“Oh, yeah, Sher, Shar, Shar,” Duvall said. “Oh, she is hot! I talked to her yesterday. She goes, ‘So are we finished?’ I go, ‘No, we’re not finished.’ I go, ‘You know about the other one [Barsuglia], but she doesn’t know about you!'”

Obviously, I meant to say “do you REFUSE to save his life.” Oops!

These guys are amazing! The sad thing is that their total lack of scruples and utterly broken moral compasses are an easy sell for the increasingly ignorant masses in this country.

Clearly, we all “want to give health care to illegals.” Well, to paraphrase a post I read yesterday:

There’s a difference between providing health insurance to illegal immigrants (something that is inherently prohibited in the Obama health plan) and providing emergency health care to injured or sick illegal immigrants in an emergency room. The former would be illegal and should be prevented. The latter is only human. You are human, right Congressman?

Here’s where the right wing’s propensity for absolutism (black or white, for or against) fails again: you’re an ER doctor, whose job is not only to provide care for the sick and injured, but you have also taken an oath to do so — AND are legally obligated to do so. Into your ER comes a dark-skinned man who has been hit by a car, suffered a heart attack, or has been shot in the chest. First, how can you even pause to ask him to show his license or green card?? Second, if you determine somehow that he is in the country illegally, do you demand to save his life? How does letting a man die because he’s “not from around here” fit into your neat little Bible-thumping world? The same people who would turn their backs on the man in this situation are the same ones who would picket a clinic for hours — or blow it up, shoot a doctor, etc. “I choose life” claims Congressman Wilson. I guess he means, as long as that life fits my narrow world view.

Finally, I had to laugh at the line about those pesky liberals who want “to defeat me and pass the plan.” Well Congressman Wilson, the Democrats have a nearly 60% majority in the House. They don’t need to defeat you to pass the plan. In fact, they are probably more likely to pass the plan with imbeciles like you in the Congress than if someone with intelligence and compassion were in your place.
